Grizzle two-for-two on weekly honors in 2024

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 9, 2024) – For the second time in as many weeks to begin the season, Sierra Grizzle has been named the Mountain West’s Defensive Player of the Week. That was announced Monday by the league office.

Grizzle, who once again had a stellar weekend, averaged 5.08 digs per set in the Cowgirls’ three wins in the state of Ohio last week. Grizzle tallied a trio of double-digit dig performances, including a pair of 20-plus outings. In the sweep over UTRGV, Grizzle had 12 digs to begin the weekend. She followed that up with 28 digs and 21 digs against Akron and Cleveland State, respectively.

As a team, Wyoming held its opponents to just a .154 team hitting percentage in the three matches. Grizzle also had five service aces on the week.

Grizzle and the rest of the Cowgirls travel to Colorado this weekend for the CU Buffs Invitational.
