Within the next 30 days, the Sixth Judicial District (Campbell, Crook and Weston counties) will have a new district court judge, according to an Oct. 8 press release from the Judicial Nominating Commission.
The new judge will replace District Court Judge John R. Perry, who announced his Jan. 3, 2022, retirement on Aug. 20.
The Judicial Nominating Commission, chaired by Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Kate M. Fox, was tasked with accepting expressed interest from qualified parties before selecting three individuals to forward to Gov. Mark Gordon for final selection.
The nominees selected by the committee are James Michael Causey, Kimberly M. Hoff and Ronald E. Wirthwein, Jr., according to the release. Gordon has 30 days to appoint one of the nominees to the position.
