COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (2/4/25) – Junior diver Alicia Gonzalez was named Mountain West Diver of the Week on Tuesday after a solid performance off the boards at the Air Force Diving Invitational this past weekend.

This is Gonzalez’ fourth Diver of the Week award this season, and the eighth of her career. She is now only one shy of tying the school record for Diver of the Week awards, held by Stephanie Ortiz (’07-’10) with 9.

At the Air Force Diving Invitational, the Pokes competed against divers from the Big 12, SEC, MW, WAC, Summit League and RMAC. Gonzalez had an impressive second place finish off the 1-meter springboard with a NCAA Zone E qualifying score of 284.70. She also took fourth in the 3-meter, scoring 299.15, which was also a Zone qualifying score.

Gonzalez and the Cowgirl divers will be back in action at the Mountain West Conference Championships on Feb. 19-22 in Houston, Texas. The Cowboy divers will take to the boards again at the WAC Championships on Feb. 26 – Mar. 1, also located in Houston, Texas.
