God's Ways Are Higher

Explore the greatness of God’s wisdom in this reflection on Isaiah 55:9, Proverbs 3:5-6, and other scriptures. Learn to trust God’s ways, even when we don’t understand them, and find peace in His perfect plan.
Isaiah, the prophet, wrote something that still rings true today. His words give us a glimpse of just how much smarter and bigger God is than we are. In Isaiah 55:9, it says: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."
Think about looking up at the sky. It's huge, and we just can't reach it. That's kind of how it is with God's ways compared to ours. Our thoughts are like little rocks, and His are like entire galaxies. We can try to figure stuff out, but God's wisdom is way bigger than anything we can imagine.
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to have faith in God, even when things don't make sense: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
It's like standing on a hill, looking at the stars and moon. Even the whole sky can't compare to God's ways. Our thoughts are tiny, but God's thoughts fill everything.
Sometimes God does things that are hard to understand. Like allowing pain and suffering. It's tough to know why, but we can believe that God's plan is still good, even when we don't see the whole thing. Romans 8:28 says: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."
Rain falls to help things grow, and in the same way, God's Word comes to us. It always does what God intends. Just like rain can turn dry land into a garden, God's Word changes us. Isaiah 55:10-11 goes on to say: "As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Life can be a roller coaster. Instead of stressing about figuring it all out, we can just trust God. When we do, it's like being safe in a parent's arms. We can find peace in knowing that God's wisdom is beyond us. Psalm 55:22 says: "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken."
Let these words remind us of God’s greatness. We don’t have to understand everything; our part is simply to trust that His ways are far greater than ours.
