Gloria D. Beastrom, 86, of Pierre, S.D., died Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, at Isburg Funeral Chapel, Pierre. Funeral services will be Oct. 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Highmore, S.D., at 10 a.m., with burial at St. John’s Cemetery, Harrold.

Gloria Gregg was born to Clara and Bernie Gregg on Aug. 20, 1932. She was raised in “the pocket” south of Harrold.
Following high school, she obtained her teaching certificate and began teaching in rural schools in the area. She was united in marriage to Bill Beastrom on June 18, 1957, and to this union six children were born: Bob, Diane, Tina, Karen, Deb and Billy. 
Family life kept her busy with raising active kids, gardening and in later years watching and enjoying the grandkids. 
She was always a teacher, encouraging reading in all her children and grandchildren and volunteering in local schools. Grandchildren were always welcome in her home and they have many fond memories from their overnight stays including her always full candy dish.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bob, her parents, four brothers and two sisters. 
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill; children, Lupe Beastrom, Diane Beastrom, Tina (Sonny) Harrowa, Karen (Ross) Nielsen, Deb (Darrell) Beck, Billy (Jamie) Beastrom; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
