Four Wrestlers Appear in Second Coaches’ Ranking

Five Cowboys Ranked in RPI
LARAMIE, Wyoming (2/13/25) – The second wrestling Coaches’ Ranking and the first RPI ranking were released Thursday. Four University of Wyoming student-athletes appeared in the Coaches’ Poll, while five were ranked in the RPI.
Joey Novak (197) led the way. He’s 17-3 on the season with five ranked victories and is currently riding an 11-bout win streak. Novak is No. 9 in the Coaches’ Ranking and No. 5 in the RPI.
Jared Hill (157) owns a 16-8 record that encompasses five ranked wins, as well. He checks in at No. 17 in the Coaches’ Poll and No. 2 in the RPI.
Gabe Willochell (149) is 14-9 with four ranked victories. He’s No. 26 in the Coaches’ Rank and No. 11 in the RPI.
Eddie Neitenbach (184) rounds out the Pokes in the Coaches’ Ranking. He’s No. 31, possessing an 8-5 record with a pair of ranked wins.
Cooper Voorhees (165) didn’t appear in the Coaches’ Poll but did have a spot in the RPI. He’s No. 23 at 13-12.
Stockto O’Brien (133) completes the Cowboys who appear in the RPI. He’s No. 32 at 9-15 with a ranked victory.
The Coaches’ Ranking and the RPI are two of the tools used for NCAA Championships selection and seeding. The next set of polls is slated for Feb. 27. The other tools used for NCAA selection include head-to-head competition, quality wins, conference tournament placement, results versus common opponents and win percentage.
