CHEYENNE (WNE) — Former APG of the Rockies Regional President Vince Bodiford died by suicide late Monday afternoon in Lions Park.

Laramie County Sheriff Brian Kozak confirmed the news Tuesday morning by phone.

Bodiford began his stint as publisher of the Wyoming Tribune Eagle and its sister publications in Laramie, Rawlins and Rock Springs on Oct. 1.

Prior to that, he had been the owner and publisher of The Cheyenne Post since he founded it in 2019. He started The Cheyenne Post as a digital- only publication that he called his “sandbox,” a place to “experiment with a variety of different content-delivery concepts.” It had a print component for two years that was printed at the WTE before going back to exclusively digital.

The media business had been a central part of Bodiford’s life since age 13, when he started as an inserter at a small weekly newspaper in southern California. He served in various newspaper owner and publisher roles throughout his career; founded NewsMakers Media, a strategic communications and media relations firm with offices in Michigan, Texas and Wyoming; and previously operated a group of 90 television stations across the United States.

Bodiford is survived by his wife, two children and four grandchildren.
