Former Glendo clerk/treasurer opts for plea deal

WHEATLAND (WNE) – The former Glendo clerk/treasurer Tristany Hoffman, who is accused of issuing herself unauthorized checks totaling $17,860.84, has opted for a plea deal in lieu of a trial, according to recent court filings.
In a plea deal submitted to the Platte County Eighth District Court on May 22, Hoffman pleaded guilty to one of her initial charges, a felony theft violation; the other charges were dropped.
Hoffman’s sentencing date as of presstime had not yet been scheduled because the probation department is still conducting its pre-sentence investigation.
Project Safe, Inc., had submitted documentation on April 21, to the court requesting a total of $21,434.13 in restitution for 14 checks ranging from $901.36 to $950.36; and 12 other transactions ranging from $2.00 to $400.00 at places like Maverick, Apple. com, and the Fast Stop in Glendo.
