Former driver's ed teacher arrested in Gillette for attempted first-degree murder in Washington

GILLETTE (WNE) — The Gillette Police Department arrested a 68-year-old Gillette man, Thomas Krogman, Wednesday afternoon at his Gillette home on Emerson Avenue in relation to an attempted murder in Washington state.
Krogman, a former driver's ed teacher for the Campbell County School District, was wanted for attempted first-degree murder and there was a warrant out for his arrest.
The Lewiston Tribune reported that Krogman is accused of attacking a 72-year-old man, his brother-in-law, Monday morning in the lobby of a Motel 6 in Clarkston, Washington. Krogman will be transported to Asotin County to face the charge.
Clarkston Police Chief Josh Daniel said in a press release that this was a personal attack and not a random incident. The victim was last listed in stable condition after suffering multiple stab wounds, including one to the face.
When the suspect, later identified as Krogman, walked into the motel, he reportedly asked Henry if he remembered him. The manager said “not really,” police reported in the affidavit. Krogman pulled a knife and first stabbed Henry in the right side of his head, the Tribune reported. The victim was reportedly stabbed eight times.
According to court documents, the victim said he hadn't seen Krogman in six years. The victim said his sister, Krogman's wife, had called him recently, and that she brought up an incident that happened 60 years earlier.
Besides teaching driver's education, Krogman has coached multiple sports teams in Campbell County throughout the years.
