Flat Rock, Constitution fires near 100% containment; Silver Spoon Fire is 42% contained

GILLETTE (WNE) — The two large wildfires in Campbell County are close to being 100% contained, as of Wednesday morning. 

The Flat Rock Fire, which has burned 54,421 acres west of Gillette, is 97% contained. And the Constitution Fire, which has burned 24,630 acres north of town, is 95% contained, the Southwest Area Incident Management Team No. 5 said in a release.

The Silver Spoon Fire, which started Sunday north of Recluse and has burned 1,721 acres, is at 42% containment, a big improvement over the 0% seen Tuesday morning.

Across the five wildfires in northeast Wyoming, firefighting crews and heavy equipment operators have repaired more than 50% of constructed fireline.
