Fielding questions about federal government, Lummis representative to hold office hours in Weston County on Aug. 20
On Aug. 20, Weston County residents will have a chance to meet in their own communities with a representative of U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis regarding any ideas, comments or concerns they have about the federal government.
Field representative Ally Garner will meet with constituents, according to a news release from Lummis’ office. In addition to hearing residents’ remarks, Garner will help anyone experiencing difficulties with federal agencies.
Lummis said in the news release that she and her team want to make sure the federal government works for Wyomingites. They want to help residents be able to better “navigate the complexities of the federal
government.”
“Whether you need help interacting with a federal agency, facilitating a passport or visa request, tracking down social security checks or VA benefits, or you just want to ensure your voice is being heard in Washington, my team of field representatives is available to meet with you,” she said.
Lummis said she hopes the meetings will “foster good conversations.”
Stacey Daniels, Lummis’ communications director, said in an email on Aug. 12 that staff have the opportunity to directly address residents’ concerns one on one. The team has the visits regularly throughout the state so that residents in rural areas can easily speak with them in person.
“These office hours are a way for Senator Lummis’ team to hear directly from constituents on issues that impact them and also to assist with casework inquiries,” Daniels said. “This event is a way to show that our team is here to help those who need assistance dealing with the federal government.”
