MARBURG, Germany (June 30, 2025) – Former Cowgirl Basketball star Allyson Fertig became the latest recent Cowgirl grad to sign a professional basketball contract. The 2025 Mountain West Player of the Year signed with BC Pharmaserv of the Bundesliga in Marburg, Germany.

Fertig closed her stellar Wyoming career in March and capped off one of the finest seasons in program history in 2024-25. Fertig became just the third Cowgirl in Mountain West history to be named the player of the year and was just the second Cowgirl in league history to win the conference scoring crown. She also became the first student-athlete in league history to record 500+ points, 300+ rebounds and 50+ blocks in the same season.

Fertig finished second in program history with 1,860 career points, good enough for 10th all-time in Mountain West history. Her 1,216 career rebounds are the most all time in both program and conference history. Fertig’s 766 career field goals are the second-most in program and third-most in MW history. She finished third in program history and sixth in conference history with 210 career blocks while her 48 career double-doubles are tied for the most in MW history and are second all-time at UW. Fertig, who was also a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection, appeared in 130 career games for the Brown & Gold, the sixth-most in program history.

“I chose Marburg because of the team culture and the beautiful city,” said Fertig.

“I’m excited to play a different style of basketball and learn a lot about the German culture. I’m excited to see how much I develop as a basketball player and as a person at BC Pharmaserv Marburg.”
