Second honor this season for Fertig

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 27, 2025) – For the second time this season and the fifth time in her career, Allyson Fertig has been named the Mountain West Player of the Week. The award was announced Monday by the league office.

Fertig had a big week as the Cowgirls went 1-1, averaging 24.5 points, 12 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game on 59.5-percent shooting (22-37). In Saturday’s contest against Colorado State, Fertig went for a career-high 34 points while also grabbing 15 rebounds. The 34 points are tied for the fifth-most in a single game in program history. Earlier in the week against Air Force, Fertig tallied 15 points, nine boards and five blocks.

The rest of the Cowgirls, along with Fertig next travel to San Jose State for a Wednesday contest tipping at 7 p.m., Mountain Time.
