RIVERTON (WNE) — V. Andrew “Drew” Lonebear Brown was not around to celebrate his birthday with his family.

The now 22-year-old has been missing since February, thought to have disappeared after a car crash on the Wind River Reservation near Ethete, according to social media posts from family members.

His official missing persons case was filed just last week.

Though the entry on the state Division of Criminal Investigation missing persons data base submitted by the Wind River Police/Bureau of Indian Affairs is sparse, with no photo or details, family members began circulating photos and a BIA missing persons poster last week.

“We are still in search of my nephew. There have been rumors of his passing, but as far as his family knows they are just that, RUMORS,” wrote Brown’s aunt in a social media post. “Until the authorities reach out to our family we have hope to find him. Please continue to share his missing person flyer.”

Another aunt said she’d last seen Brown on February 8.

“He got in a car wreck after with some friends, and no one really [has] seen him since,” she explained, asking that anyone with information or who might have seen Brown to contact authorities.

The BIA poster says Brown was believed to be wearing black pants, a black sweatshirt and white Nike shoes when he went missing. He’s six feet tall and weighs around 190 pounds.

Anyone with information is urged to contact BIA Special Agent Jolene Makeshine at 307-332- 3112 or email OJS_MMU@bia.gov. Those with information may also text the tipline at 847411 and enter the keyword BIAMMU.
