Fall fun

As October comes to an end, keep up the festive fall spirit! Make sure to dress in your best Halloween Costume or fall attire on Oct. 31 for Trunk for Treat on Main Street and Trick or Treat at the Weston County Manor and Mondell Heights. Keep your costume on and add dancing shoes for the dance with the Western Ramblers from 7-10 p.m. at the Weston County Senior Center.

Fall arguably is one of the best seasons to run around in the sun – with its dazzling colors, football, pumpkin pie, warm weather (in consideration of Wyoming weather), horror movies, pumpkin spice frappuccinos and so much more! The community of Newcastle always comes together during fall, especially on Halloween. One of my favorite fall memories of all time is purely driving down the bypass to see the red, yellow and brown trees hanging over the fence and road.

I know I’m not alone in saying I’m excited for the hunt of the season. For some young hunters, the joy of shooting a first animal is truly exciting. Plus, the anticipation of drawing a tag, whether that be what you wanted or not.

I’ll share a favorite fall recipe of mine. Feel free to try this simple recipe out at home. It requires only three ingredients and a microwave.

Caramel fruit dip:

8 oz. original cream cheese

3/4 to 1 cup of brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions: Combine softened cream cheese in a bowl with the brown sugar. Heat for around 20-30 seconds (optional). Then, add vanilla and stir until creamy. Serve hot or cold with apples or any kind of fruit.

Feel free to come out to any of the events listed above and support the community. We would love to see you there!
