Ezell Announces Four Signees to 2025 Class
Early signing class includes a guard and three frontcourt student-athletes
LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 13, 2024) – Wyoming Cowgirl Head Basketball Coach Heather Ezell has announced the addition of four student-athletes, who will be joining the Cowgirl Family next season. Ezell announced that Liv Blomkvist (Stockholm, Sweden), Katie Harrington (Victoria, Australia), Jane Rumpf (Denver, Colo.) and Peyton Wohlford (Smithville, Mo.) will be joining Wyoming in 2025.
“We’re excited to add these four early signees to our Cowgirl Family,” said Ezell.
“They all bring a variety of skill sets that will translate well to our system. They all come from amazing families that will fit into our Wyoming culture perfectly.”
Liv Blomkvist | 6-4 | Forward/Center | Stockholm, Sweden | Lulea Elite Academy
Blomkvist helped win back-to-back Division 1 North Ladies League titles and is currently the team captain for RIG Lulea. Blomkvist has also been the captain of both her U15 and U16 National Teams. At the 2023-24 Swedish National Championship, Blomkvist was named the Player of the Tournament. A silver medalist at the Swedish U19 Championships, Blomkvist also was named the MVP of her national team at the Portugal tournament in 2022.
“Liv and her family are the perfect addition to our program. She will be a great addition to our frontcourt with her size and ability. She can score in a variety of ways and has a motor that doesn’t stop. She has been well-coached in her prep career, which makes the jump to the next level much easier,” said Ezell.
Katie Harrington | 6-0 | Guard | Victoria, Australia | Carey Baptist Grammar School
Harrington has been a three-time MVP and a team captain for two different squads during her prep career. Harrington has also received all-conference honors multiple times, from different teams in Australia. She is also a decorated volleyball student-athlete and academic student.
“We got super lucky with Katie and are excited to bring her and her family into our Cowgirl program. She has good size at the guard position and will be able to score both inside and outside within our motion. We’ve had a lot of success with Aussies in our program and I have no doubt Katie will continue that tradition,” said Ezell on Harrington.
Jane Rumpf | 6-2 | Forward | Denver, Colorado | Regis Jesuit High School
Rumpf was named a Second Team Continental League member in 2022 and 2023 and led Regis Jesuit to a Colorado 6A Elite 8 appearance, as well as a state runner-up finish in 2023. Rumpf has also been a decorated field hockey student-athlete and participated in soccer at RJHS.
“Jane comes from a great family. She has a skillset that gives her the opportunity to play at multiple positions, with her ability to score both inside and outside. Both her high school and summer basketball programs have prepared her for an immediate impact at the next level,” commented Ezell.
Peyton Wohlford | 6-2 | Forward | Smithville, Missouri | Smithville High School
Wohlford has been named all-conference, all-district and all-state each of the past two seasons. She has helped lead Smithville to a pair of conference and district titles and a pair of fourth-place finishes at the Missouri State Tournament. A decorated golf and soccer student-athlete, Wohlford is already second all-time in school history in career 3-pointers made. She owns each of the top two spots for single-season and single-game 3-pointers made.
“Peyton and her family will be a great fit in our program. She can flat-out shoot the basketball and in our motion, will be able to stretch the defense with her size. She plays for some amazing coaches in both her high school and summer programs that have prepared her for the next level,” said Ezell.
