All candidates on the ballot were incumbents, and each retained a seat in Tuesday’s election for the Weston County hospital and museum districts, according to unofficial results, though one race was decided by a single vote.

In the Weston County Hospital District race for four-year terms, Dottie Sylte led the field with 155 votes, followed by Ann Slagle with 132. Karen Drost received 104 votes.

The hospital district’s two-year term produced the closest contest of the night. Benjamin S. Roberts edged James Burrough by one vote, 145 to 144. Roberts’ margin was driven by a stronger showing in Upton, while Burrough led in Newcastle and Osage.

In the Weston County Museum District race for four-year terms, Shirley Harder received the highest vote total with 165, followed closely by Linda Nessul with 157.

According to Museum Director Tasia Forrester, Harriet Birkely withdrew from the race.

Across both districts, voting totals reflected participation from Newcastle, Osage and Upton precincts.

All results remain unofficial until canvassed.
