DOUGLAS (WNE) — A Douglas woman faces multiple drug-related charges in state district court, the most serious being a felony for child endangerment by methamphetamine possession.

Kristen Braig, born in 1988, was arrested for these charges in late December after the Douglas Police Department responded to a report of possible controlled substances and stolen property at Braig’s address.

“Braig is the parent of a juvenile child . . . and that (child) also lived and resided in the same apartment as Braig,” the affidavit states.

According to the affidavit, multiple pieces of paraphernalia and controlled substances were found. This included a red jewelers bag with residue that tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine that was found “near a child’s care items.”

Law enforcement also found what tested positive as marijuana and three baggies of suspected psilocybin mushrooms in the living room and a bedroom.

Along with the felony for child endangerment, Braig is charged with three separate possession charges: one for possessing less than 3 grams of methamphetamine, one for possessing less than 3 ounces of marijuana, and one for possessing less than 3 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms. She faces up to five years in prison and $5,000 in fines for the felony charge and 12 months imprisonment and $1,000 in fines for each of the three misdemeanor charges.
