Douglas Chester Engstrom, 70, passed away Jan. 27, 2020, at Clear Creek Care Center, Westminster, Colo., of a long-term illness.  
He was born Jan. 5, 1950, to Robert L. and Charlotte P. (Lamb) Engstrom in Newcastle, Wyo. He attended Sundance High School. 
Following high school, he did a tour of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. As a teenager he was active with the Sundance Boy Scouts.  He worked several different jobs in the oil fields around Gillette, Wyo. He was working as a truck driver when he became disabled.
He is survived by sister, Viola Stanley of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Don (wife Betty) Engstrom of Sundance, Wyo.; nieces, Stephanie Coy of Indianapolis, and Alexis (husband Deric) Flagstad of Spearfish, S.D.; nephew, Robert (wife Karen) Stanley of Van Vert, Ohio, and Scott (wife Julie) Stanley of Lizton, Ind.; three great-nieces and four great-nephews; three great-great nephews, three aunts, and a number of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial with full military honors took place at Black Hills National Cemetery, near Sturgis, S.D.
