Voters in Weston County will head to the polls May 5 to decide seats on the Weston County Museum District and Weston County Hospital District boards, with all candidates on the ballot being incumbents.Β

According to official ballots, three candidates will appear on the museum district ballot for three four-year terms: Harriet Birkley, Shirley Harder and Linda Nessul.Β

The hospital district ballot will include three candidates for three four-year terms: Karen Drost, Ann Slagle and Dottie Sylte. Two candidates will also appear on the ballot for 2 two-year terms: James Burrough and Benjamin S. Roberts.

As previously reported, the election will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with polling locations at the Upton Community Center, Osage Fire Hall and the Weston County Fairgrounds in Newcastle. The two districts coordinate the election to share costs and provide a single voting location in each community.

Absentee voting is underway and will continue through May 4. Museum district absentee ballots are available at the Anna Miller Museum, while hospital district absentee ballots may be requested through Weston County Health Services.
