Dianne June Heiser Nelson passed away on March 26, 2026. 

Dianne was born on May 8, 1953, in Watertown, South Dakota. She attended and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1970. She later married her high school sweetheart, Ernest Nelson, and together they raised three children. 

While raising her family, Dianne began babysitting, which became her lifelong calling. She cared for many children over the years, each holding a special place in her heart. She had a natural gift with children and was known for her loving and gentle spirit. She also kept in touch with many of the children she cared for throughout her life. 

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Nelson Liggett (Larry), Gilbert Nelson, and Matthew Nelson (Kathy), all of Newcastle; her sisters, Amy Goebel (Tony) and Sherry Waldron; her brothers-in-law, James Grebner and Rich Mirich; and her sister-in-law, Vicki Nelson Berry (Michael). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lawson, Garrett, Nakala, and Kendahl Liggett; Elianna DeLaRosa-Brown; Izabell Nelson; step-grandchildren, Steven and Sara Huey, and Jasper Stevens; her great-grandson, Jericho Liggett; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Dorothy Heiser; her husband, Ernest Nelson;
her sisters, Julie Heiser Grebner and Janice Heiser Manders; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Nelson Trisler, Joyce Nelson Reed, Helen Nelson Baker, and Brenda Nelson Decker; her brothers-in-law, Butch Waldron and Brian Nelson; and her grandson, Camryn Liggett. 

Dianne was a very special woman who was kind to everyone she met. She loved her family deeply and gave her whole heart to them. Each of her grandchildren shared a unique and special bond with her. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who knew and loved her. 

Services will be held Friday, April 3, at 2 p.m. at Church on the Hill. Graveside service will be held at Upton Cemetery. A gathering with food will
be held at Church on the Hill following the grave- side service. All are welcome to attend.
