LARAMIE, Wyo. (7/28/25) – University of Wyoming Swimming and Diving head coach Dave Denniston announced the 2025-26 season schedule on Monday. This upcoming season’s slate is set to feature a good variety of duals, tri-meets and invitationals to help prepare UW for the championship portion of the schedule.
Denniston said, “I think we have a very competitive schedule for our swimming and diving team this year. We are looking forward to racing our usual rivals with Air Force and CSU, but I also think the opportunity to compete against LSU, Utah and Washington State and Mizzou will give our program a shot at competing at a higher level. We are also grateful to have a conference championship in the MPSF for our men's team this season.”
The season begins with the annual Brown and Gold Meet on September 26, followed by the Brown, Gold and Old Meet on September 27. Both meets are set to be the final meets swam in Corbett Pool, with construction on the new UW Aquatics Center underway and expected to be completed for the 2026-27 season.
Outside competition for the Pokes begins at the Front Range Invite in Denver the weekend of October 3-4. Following the Invite, UW will compete in a tri-meet with Air Force and LSU at the Air Force Academy October 17-18.
The next three meets will be held in Wyoming, with the first being a UW Outreach Event at Green River HS against Utah on October 24. The Cowgirls will then play host to this year’s Border War against CSU on Friday, October 31. Senior Day will be on Saturday, November 1, as UW will host a tri-meet at Laramie HS against UNC and Colorado School of Mines.
Proceeding winter break, Wyoming will travel to a couple of invitationals. The Mizzou Invite will take place November 19-22 in Columbia, Missouri, while the UNLV Invite is December 15-17 in Las Vegas.
To kick off the new year, UW will compete in a DU hosted tri-meet that will also feature Colorado Mesa on January 17. The Cowgirls will then host Washington State in Laramie on January 24.
To close out the non-championship competition, the divers will compete in the Air Force Diving Invitational on January 29-31 and the swimmers will head to the DU First Chance Meet February 6-7.
The Mountain West Conference Championships will take place in Houston, Texas from February 18-21. The Cowboys will be competing in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) championships in Pharr, Texas from February 25-28.
“This year is shaping up to be a fun challenge as we transition into our new pool and start to embrace elevated competitions across the country,” said Denniston.
