Darlene Ruth Carr, age 91 of Newcastle, Wyo., died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at Weston County Health Services. She was born on Dec. 12, 1928, in Albion, Neb., to Leona (Penney) and Alvin Watson.
Darlene grew up in the Four Corners area north of Newcastle, graduating from Newcastle High School in 1946. 
She married Robert Carr on March 9, 1947, in Custer, S.D. The couple made their home in Deer Lodge, Mont., for 10 years, returning to Newcastle in 1959.
Darlene worked at Weston County Memorial Hospital and clinics as a secretary until she retired. 
She enjoyed reading, playing cards, listening to music and time with her family, especially during the holidays.
She was a member of the Methodist church. 
Darlene is survived by her sons, Alvin of Newcastle and Gerry (Paula) of Newcastle; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Avis Elliott of Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Carr; parents; sister, Donna Gail Jackson; son, Dr. Richard Gene Carr and his wife, Nancey.
Funeral service for Darlene Carr was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, at Meridian Mortuary in Newcastle, with Mark Elliott officiating. Interment was at 2 p.m., at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D.
