Cross Country Releases its 2024 Schedule
LARAMIE, Wyo. (Aug. 9, 2024) – The University of Wyoming cross country program announced its schedule for the 2024 season Friday. The Cowboys and Cowgirls will compete in four regular-season meets and three postseason meets, the most in a season since 2019.
Wyoming will kick off the season hosting the Wyoming Invite on Aug. 30, in Cheyenne. The meet takes place at Little America Golf Course with a start time of 9 a.m. for the women and 9:30 a.m. for the men.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will have three weeks off before returning to action for the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 20, in St. Paul, Minn.
The Pokes begin a busy final regular-season month, as they compete at the Joe Piane Invitational on Oct. 4, in South Bend Ind., and race at the Pre Nationals hosted by Wisconsin on Oct. 19, in Madison, Wis.
Postseason action opens on Nov. 1 when Wyoming competes in Colorado Springs, Colo., at the Mountain West Cross Country Championships. Wyoming continues with the NCAA Mountain Regional on Nov. 11, in Reno, Nev.
To close the season, the teams will travel back to Wisconsin for the NCAA Cross Country National Championship on Nov. 23, in Madison, Wis.
The women’s team returns 17 Cowgirls for the 2024 season and adds 10 newcomers. On the men’s side, 13 Cowboys return with three new runners joining the squad.
