Cowgirls Wrap Up Play at The Gold Rush

Seal Beach, California (March 1, 2021) – The Wyoming Cowgirl Golf squad wrapped up play at The Gold Rush hosted by Long Beach State on Tuesday finishing 11th as a team. Meghan Vogt was the highest finisher for the Cowgirls finishing in a tie for 35th.  
Vogt got better with every round throughout the tournament posting her best score in the third round shooting a 76 (+4) to give herself a total three round score of 234 (+18). Jessica Zapf posted a third round of 82 (+10) bringing her total to 239 (+23) as she finished the tournament tied for 45th. Samantha Hui also had her best round on the final day shooting 77 (+5) on her way to finishing tied for 55th with a total score of 245 (+29). Rounding out the Cowgirl lineup, Cristina Ciasca finished in a tie for 62nd while Morgan Ryan finished in 66th. 
Playing as an individual, Kyla Wilde had an outstanding final round shooting a 74 (+2) bringing her three-round total to 233 (+17) as she finished tied for 30th. Also playing as individuals, Michelle Nguyen finished up the tournament in a tie for 68th while Rachel Stoinski finished in 70th.  
As a team, the Cowgirls finished the Gold Rush in 11th with a team score of 963 (+99) sitting well ahead of CSU-Northridge and just nine strokes behind 10th place NIU. No. 14 USC won the team title with a score of 863 (-1) while No. 15 UCLA finished in second.  
Up next for the Cowgirls is a trip to Ewa Beach, Hawaii to compete to compete in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on March 7-8.
