Cowgirls Receive ITA Team Academic Award

Four student-athletes also named ITA Scholar-Athletes

TEMPE, Ariz. (July 22, 2024) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team continued its 2023-24 academic year success Monday as they were named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Team Academic Award honoree for the 12th time under Head Coach Dean Clower.

The Cowgirls, who had a team GPA of 3.42 this academic year, also had four ITA Academic Scholar-Athletes announced. In order to receive the team academic award, a school must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or better. Scholar-Athletes, meanwhile, must have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

The four student-athletes that were named scholar athletes were Jeselle Ante, Noesjka Brink, Lucia Malinak and Sophie Zehender. A total of 47 Cowgirls have now been named Scholar Athletes by the ITA under Clower.
