Third time in four years UW recognized for academic prowess
ATLANTA, Ga. (July 22, 2025) – For the third time in the past four academic years, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team has been ranked in the WBCA Academic Top 25. The Cowgirls are no. 15 this year, after compiling a team GPA of 3.69 in 2024-25.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women’s basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2024-25 season is the 30th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls. This season, a total of eight Cowgirls were named to the Mountain West All-Academic Team with four earning spots on the CSC Academic All-District Team.
“The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women’s basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom,” said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. “The teams we honor this year strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!”
The Cowgirls were ranked 16th in last season’s academic top 25.
