Cowgirls Fall 4-3 to Pacific

MOSCOW, Idaho (Feb. 22, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team jumped out to an early lead, but couldn’t hold on late as they fell 4-3 Saturday in a neutral matchup with Pacific, hosted by Idaho.
The Cowgirls got on the board first sweeping their way to the Doubles Point. At the No. 1 spot, Violetta Borodina and Dilnaz Mashabayeva made quick work of their opponents, winning 6-2. At No. 2, Eugenia Ceinos and Elena Trencheva pulled out a 7-6 (7-3) win. Rounding this out at the third spot was Serina Abriola and Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia, as they won 6-4.
In singles, Wyoming got a pair of victories, winning at No. 2 and 3. Ceinos won a straight-sets battle at the second position, 7-5 and 7-6 (7-5). At No. 3, Kochelaevskaia won in impressive fashion, 6-0 and 6-3.
UW is now off for two weeks before returning to action. The Cowgirls will travel to Alabama to face West Alabama in a 3 p.m., Mountain Time match March 8.
