Neutral match in McComb, Miss.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 6, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team returns to action after a two-week hiatus Saturday as they make what has become their annual pilgrimage to McComb, Mississippi. Wyoming will face West Alabama at 4 p.m., Mountain Time.

This weekend marks the sixth consecutive season that the Cowgirls have made the trip to McComb. Wyoming and West Alabama are meeting for the fourth time ever. The Tigers won the previous meeting, also in McComb, 4-3 back in February of 2023.

Wyoming is looking to bounce back after taking a pair of losses two weeks ago in Moscow, Idaho. The Cowgirls dropped a 6-1 contest to Idaho before losing 4-3 against Pacific. Dilnaz Mashabayeva picked up the lone win against Idaho. With that win, Mashabayeva has a team-best four singles victories this winter. Against Pacific, the Cowgirls won the Doubles Point and got victories in singles from Eugenia Ceinos (No. 2) and Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia (No. 3).

West Alabama, who is ranked in the top-20 nationally in Division II, is 4-2 overall this season and is 1-1 in neutral-site matchups. Saturday will be the Cowgirls’ final non-conference matchup of 2025.
