Cowgirls Close Regular Season Thursday at Air Force

Match moved to 2:30 p.m.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 15, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team closes the 2025 regular season with a trip down to the Air Force Academy for a 2:30 p.m., contest with the Falcons Thursday. Thursday’s match was originally scheduled for 5 p.m., but was moved up to the 2:30 slot in order to play outside.

Wyoming (7-14, 4-5 MW) is coming off a 4-1 victory over Border Rival Colorado State in Sunday’s home finale. Elena Trencheva picked up both a doubles and singles victory in the match on her Senior Day. Trencheva’s straight-sets win improves her to 5-2 in Mountain West play this season and gives her a team-high nine dual wins this season in singles action. Trencheva and her doubles partner, Eugenia Ceinos, improved to 5-2 as a duo in 2025 and 4-2 in league play.

Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia also got a win against the Rams, as she rallied for a hard-fought 6-7 (8-10), 6-3 and 6-4. The win moves her to 4-2 in MW action in 2025 and gives her a team-high 15 singles wins across the entirety of the season.

Entering the final match of the regular season, the Cowgirls are looking to secure the No. 7 seed at next week’s Mountain West Championship with a win. UW can move up to the six seed for next week’s tourney with a win and a loss by Fresno State.

Air Force is 3-6 in conference play this season and are 9-13 overall. The Falcons are 5-5 in home matches in 2025.
