Cowgirls Close Regular Season with Loss at Air Force

UW loses 4-1

USAFA, Colo. (April 17, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team closed the 2025 regular season with a 4-1 loss on the road Thursday at Air Force. With the loss, Wyoming will be the No. 8 seed in next week’s Mountain West Championship tournament.

Dilnaz Mashabayeva earned the Cowgirls’ lone win on the day, as she came away with a straight-sets victory at No. 4, winning 6-2 and 6-3. Wyoming also got a doubles victory at the No. 1 position as Eugenia Ceinos and Elena Trencheva came away with a 7-6 win. The duo, playing at the top doubles spot for the first time this season, improved to 5-2 in Mountain West action with the win.

The Cowgirls begin postseason play next week as they open the Mountain West Championship at 11 a.m., Mountain Time Wednesday, April 23 against ninth-seeded Colorado State. This marks the second season in a row that the Cowgirls and Rams will play at the MW tourney.
