UW and CSU face-off at 11 a.m.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 21, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team begins postseason play this week at the Mountain West Championships. The tournament, which is held once again in Las Vegas, begins Wednesday. The No. 8 seed Cowgirls begin the tourney at 11 a.m., Wednesday against ninth-seeded Colorado State.

This will be the second season in a row that the Cowgirls and Rams will be in the Mountain West championship. UW won the regular season matchup with CSU a little over a week ago in Laramie, winning 4-1 on April 13. Last season, Colorado State defeated the Cowgirls in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Wyoming is looking to extend its streak of making it to the quarterfinals or beyond at the Mountain West Championship with a victory in Wednesday’s first round. The Cowgirls have played in at least the quarterfinals in every MW Championship since 2008. CSU went 2-8 in league play in 2025 and went 2-11 in matches away from home.

All-Mountain West accolades will be announced Tuesday.
