MADISON, Wis. (November 22, 2024) – The University of Wyoming men’s cross country program will travel to Madison, Wis., for the NCAA Cross Country Championships at the Zimmer Championship Course, on Saturday. The team will race in the 10k at 9:10 a.m. MT with uninterrupted coverage on ESPNU.
The No. 29 Cowboys were selected as an at-large team last Saturday following a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Mountain Regional. This will be the men’s team's first time back at the championships since the 2018 season when they finished 12th. Saturday’s championship will mark the second 10k in eight days, a grueling challenge against recovery and high mileage that all teams must face. Additionally, the Zimmer Championship Course was dumped with snow the past few days, adding another environmental factor to conquer. With all things considered, the Cowboys are prepped for their best race of the season and know that’s what it will take to reach their goals.
The Cowboys will be racing against every ranked team and one that received votes. The field isn’t unfamiliar though as five other mountain region teams also made the championship in No. 1 BYU, No. 5 New Mexico, No. 6 Northern Arizona, No. 23 Utah State and No. 28 Colorado. A full list of competing teams can be found here.
You can watch the Cowboys here with coverage of the championships beginning at 7:30 a.m. MT.
