Cowboys Host Utah Tech on Saturday Evening

Contest set for 7 p.m. start 

 LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 14, 2024) – The Wyoming Cowboys return to the friendly confines of Arena-Auditorium on Saturday evening hosting Utah Tech at 7 p.m. It is just the second meeting between the two schools all-time and first since 2018.

Fans can watch the contest on the MW Network, listen, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.

About The Teams

Wyoming is 2-1 on the season after falling on the road at Texas Tech by a score of 96-49 on Wednesday. The Pokes are shooting 47.7 percent from the field for the season and allowing opponents to shoot 46.5 percent. The Pokes are grabbing 40 rebounds per game for the season to rank fourth in the conference. The Pokes grab 15.7 offensive rebounds per game to rank second in the MW and No. 23 in the nation.

The Trailblazers head into the game with a 1-2 overall record. Utah Tech defeated Bethesda by a score of 90-59 on Wednesday. Utah Tech fell to Oregon State and New Mexico State in the first two games of the season The Trailblazers are shooting 36.9 percent from the field and opponent are hooting 45.4 percent. Utah Tech grabs 42 rebounds per game.

About The Players

Wyoming is led in scoring this season by Obi Agbim at 21.3 points per game. He ranks second in the Mountain West and No. 45 in the nation in scoring. He also adds 3.7 assists per game to rank ninth in the MW. Jordan Nesbitt adds 10 points per game and a team-best nine rebounds per contest. He ranks third in the MW in rebounding. Kobe Newton adds 10 points per game and is second on the team with eight assists for the season.

Utah Tech is led in scoring by Noa Gonsalves at 14.3 points per game. HE also leads the team with seven three-pointers. Beon Riley adds 12.7 points per game and leads the team with 8.7 rebounds per contest. Tennessee Rainwater adds 8.5 point per game.

About The Series

The Cowboys and Trailblazers will meet for the second time on Saturday. Wyoming is 1-0 against Utah Tech taking the contest 65-63 on Dec. 29, 2018 in Laramie. The Pokes took the contest on a last second shot.

Up Next

Wyoming will return to action next Friday hosting Southeastern Louisiana in the Arena-Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
