Cowboys Host San Diego State in Home Finale on Saturday

Seven seniors honored before contest

LARAMIE, Wyo.  (Feb. 27, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowboys close the home portion of the schedule on Saturday hosting San Diego State in the Arena-Auditorium for a 6 p.m. start on CBS Sports Network with Carter Blackburn on the call and Pete Gillen analyzing the action. Wyoming will celebrate the seniors prior to the contest.

A special halftime show featuring Jessica Haas, the fastest speed painter in the entertainment industry will take place with her painting a special piece for Cowboy fans.

Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.

About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 12-17 overall record after falling to Nevada on the road on Tuesday. The Pokes are 5-13 in conference play this season. UW is shooting 44.3 percent from the field with opponent shooting 44.7 percent. Wyoming is shooting 35.4 percent from the arc with opponents at 33.1 percent. Wyoming is grabbing 34.7 rebounds per game and are +1.9 on the boards this season.

The Aztecs head into the contest with a 19-7 overall record and a 12-5 mark in conference play after downing New Mexico 73-65 on Tuesday. SDSU is ranked No. 49 in the NET Rankings and is fighting for a NCAA Tournament spot. The Aztecs average 71.3 points per game and hold opponents to 37.1 percent from the field to lead the nation and 30 percent from behind the arc to ranks first in conference. SDSU ranks fifth in the nation in blocked shots at 5.7 per game.

About The Players

The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim at 17.7 points per game for third in the conference. He is shooting 46.4 percent from behind the arc to lead the league and rank fifth in the nation. He leads the team with 3.5 assists per game to rank No. 12 in the MW. Jordan Nesbitt added has eight double-doubles on the season for third in the conference. He adds 8.7 points per game and seven rebounds per night to lead the team and rank fourth in the MW. Kobe Newton adds 7.4 points per game and has made 43 threes for the season. Dontaie Allen adds 7.4 points per game and is second on the team at 9.3 points per game in conference play

SDSU is led in scoring by Nick Boyd at 13 points per game. He also leads the team with 103 assists on the season. Miles Byrd adds 12.7 points per night and has a team-high 47 three-pointers. BJ Davis adds 8.7 points per game and Jared Coleman-Jones leads the team with five rebounds per game.

About The Series

The Cowboys and Aztecs will meet for the 95th time on Saturday. The Aztecs lead the all-time series 51-43 in a series that dates back to 1979. UW is 27-13 against SDSU in Laramie.

Up Next

Wyoming closes the regular season on Tuesday with a trip to Fresno State. It marks the second-straight season the Pokes have closed the regular season with the Bulldogs.
