Cowboys Find Their Way Back onto the Podium on Day Three

Smith Wins First WAC Title, Ravegum Finishes Third
HOUSTON, Texas (2/28/25) – The University of Wyoming men’s swimming and diving team found their way back onto the podium on day three of the 2025 WAC Championships Friday evening.
After day three, the Cowboys are currently in fifth place with 295.5 points.
Captain Gavin Smith went from taking third his sophomore year, second his junior year, to finally claiming the title of WAC Champion in the 100-yard butterfly as a senior, breaking his own school record by going 46.45. In the B final, Quinn Teller finished first with a time of 47.46 while Gray Sisco finished in a tie for 12th off a time of 48.11.
Andrew Ravegum kept the Cowboys on the podium by placing third in the 400-yard IM, logging a time of 3:49.34. In the B final, Derek Long came in seventh with a time of 3:59.32.
The 200-yard freestyle saw Adam Pannell finish sixth in the A final with a time of 1:37.12. Caleb Ozenne came in first in the B final, logging a 1:37.22.
Two Cowboys represented in the B final of the 100-yard breaststroke, with Griffith Orloff taking fourth (55.29) and Joe Morales coming in eighth (55.86).
Collin Davis finished sixth off a time of 48.89 in the B final of the 100-yard backstroke.
In the final event of the evening, the Cowboy 400-yard medley relay team of Davis, Christian Louie, Smith and Teller earned a place on the podium with a third-place finish (3:13.59).
The final day of the 2025 WAC Championships kicks off tomorrow.
Day Two Recap
O’Connor, Teller, Borrman and Smith broke the school record in the 200-yard freestyle relay, going 1:18.77 for fourth place.
Ozenne finished fifth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:23.59, while Pannell came in eighth off a time of 4:26.69.
In the 200-yard IM, Ravegum took sixth, logging a time of 1:46.40.
Teller finished eighth in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming a 20.15.
Grau turned in an eighth-place performance off the 3-meter springboard, scoring a 289.10.
Day One Recap
Davis, Louie, Smith and Teller broke the school record in the 200-yard medley, claiming fourth place on a time of 1:26.56.
Wyoming’s first podium finish of the 2025 WAC Championships came in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a third-place finish. Smith, Pannell, Ravegum and Ozenne swam a collective time of 6:26.58.
In the 1-meter springboard, Campbell took 11th off a score of 274.95 while Grau finished 13th with a score of 259.20.
