Cowboy Cagers Open Road Swing with Trip to UNLV

Contest on CBS Sports Network 

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 19, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowboys open a road swing with a trip to Las Vegas for a battle with UNLV on Tuesday evening in the Thomas & Mack Center. The contest is slated for a 9 p.m. MT start on CBS Sports Network with John Sadak on the call along with Tre Demps.

Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.

About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 9-9 overall record and a 2-5 mark in conference play after falling at home to Colorado State on Saturday. Wyoming is shooting 45 percent from the field on the season with opponents shooting 44.4 percent. Wyoming is shooting 35.2 percent from behind the arc for fourth in the conference. The Pokes are grabbing 35 rebounds per game and are +3.3 on the glass this season.

The Runnin’ Rebels are 11-7 on the season and 5-2 in the MW after downing No. 22 Utah State and San Diego State last week. UNLV is shooting 36.7 percent from behind the arc this season to rank second in the conference. The Runnin’ Rebels are averaging 71.7 points per game and are allowing 70.4 per night. UNLV is one of the top pressure teams in the MW averaging 6.7 steals per game for the season.

About The Players

The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim at 18.8 points per game for second in the conference. He is shooting 46.2 percent from behind the arc to lead the league and rank sixth in the nation. Jordan Nesbitt added his sixth double-double of the season at Air Force to rank third in the MW and No. 41 in the nation. He adds 8.4 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per night to lead the team and rank fourth in the MW. Kobe Newton adds 8.3 points per game and has made 28 threes for the season.

UNLV is led in scoring this season by Dedan Thomas Jr. at 15.8 points per game. He also leads the team with 81 assists on the season for 4.5 per game. Jaden Henley adds 11.5 points per game and Jailen Bedford adds 10.6 and is second on the team with 35 three-point makes. Jeremiah “Bear” Cherry leads the team with 5.3 rebounds per game.

About The Series

The Cowboys and UNLV will meet for the 67th time on Tuesday. The Runnin’ Rebels lead the series 46-20 and are 12-4 in Las Vegas.
