Cowboy Cagers Head to New Mexico for Battle in The Pit with Lobos

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 10, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowboys open a two-game road swing heading to New Mexico for a battle with the Lobos in The Pit on Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. on FS1 with Nick Koop on the call with Casey Jacobsen analyzing the action.
Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.
About The Teams
Wyoming heads into the contest with a 11-13 overall record and a 4-9 mark in conference play after falling at home to UNLV by a score of 68-57 last Saturday. The Pokes average 68.3 points per game and are allowing 70.4 points per game. In conference games, the Pokes are shooting 35.9 percent from behind the arc or third in the conference. Defensively, Wyoming is allowing Mountain West teams to shoot 32.9 percent from behind the arc, which ranks third in the conference behind San Diego State and New Mexico.
The Lobos head into the contest with a 20-4 overall record and winners of 13 of their last 14 games and sit at the top of the league with a 12-1 record. New Mexico downed Air Force 88-53 on Saturday and a receiving votes in both polls. The Lobos lead the MW and rank No. 14 in the nation at 83.7 points per game. New Mexico leads the MW in fast break points per game at 16.9, which ranks sixth nationally. The Lobos lead the conference and rank tenth in the nation in rebounds per game at 40.8.
About The Players
The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim at 17.6 points per game for third in the conference. He is shooting 44.4 percent from behind the arc to lead the league and rank No. 14 in the nation. He leads the team with 3.5 assists per game to rank No. 12 in the MW. Jordan Nesbitt added his eighth double-double of the season against Fresno State to rank third in the MW and No. 36 in the nation. He adds 8.7 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per night to lead the team and rank fourth in the MW. Kobe Newton adds eight points per game and has made 39 threes for the season.
The Lobos are led in scoring by Donovan Dent at 19.6 points per game, which ranks first in the conference and No. 23 in the nation. He also ranks second in the MW in assists at 6.5 per game. That number also ranks ninth in the nation. Nelly Junior Joseph adds 13.8 points per game and adds 11 rebounds per night to lead the MW and rank fourth in the nation. He has 13 double-doubles on the year to rank sixth in the nation and first in the MW.

The Cowboys trail the all-time series against New Mexico 81-72 and hold a 25-47 on the road. New Mexico took the first meeting in Laramie rallying in the second half to take the contest 61-53 on Jan. 7.
