Backtrack Vocals kick off new concert season

The Weston County Concert Association kicks off the 2022-23 season on Sept. 26 with the five-person a Capella group Backtrack Vocals. The concert will be at Crouch Auditorium at 7 p.m.
The New York City-based group infuses  humor into its performances, showing versatility in a repertoire that includes top 40, Motown, classical, show tunes, and more. 
Backtrack Vocals has an outreach program for young aspiring artists, conducting educational programs at hundreds of schools nationwide up through college. The group offers assemblies, workshops for choirs, and clinics on topics from beat-boxing, improvisation and even do-it-yourself music video production.
Its YouTube channel, which debuted in 2013, now has over 100,000 subscribers with over 10 million views. 
The group has appeared on network television and in movies, and has accolades from  events and competitions. Backtrack Vocals’ current lineup is Melissa Jordano, Mike Hinkle, Chrissy Aloisio, Craig Simonetti and Xander Teplansky.
The rest of the concert association’s season will feature various acts designed to give something to every type of concert-goer: Oct. 6, 2 p.m., the Cambria String Band; Oct. 28, 7 p.m, Empire Wild;  Jan. 29, 3 p.m., The Travis Anderson Trio;  Feb. 11, 7 p.m., Dakota Players; April 23, 3 p.m., How Sweet It Is. All shows will be at the Crouch Auditorium, located at Newcastle High School.
Membership prices are student, $10; adult, $40; and family, $85. (See advertisement on page 7 for more information.)
