Multiple buildings — including a home — and vehicles were destroyed after a commercial vehicle crashed on Monday in Upton, according to a Wyoming Highway Patrol release.

The wreck occurred across the street from the Arrow Service and Gas and next to Remy’s Diner. Videos posted online show the tractor-trailer crashing through a brick building before reaching the home.

“At approximately 7:00 a.m. on March 24, 2025, Wyoming State Troopers responded to a crash in Upton involving a commercial vehicle and multiple buildings,” the release says.

The tractor-trailer was hauling double trailers of bentonite, the release says.

The vehicle was traveling north on Wyoming State Highway 116 when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of WY 116 and US 16.

“The vehicle struck a parked car and crashed through a brick building. It continued across the Remy’s Diner parking lot, hitting another parked vehicle before finally colliding with a residence,” the release says.

The trailed detached from the power unit and rolled onto its side, the release says, spilling roughly half of its load. The power unit and pup trailer remained upright.

According to the release, the crash is still under investigation. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and for not having the proper driver’s license to operate the class of vehicle he was driving.

The only injuries reported were minor injuries to the driver who was transported from the scene.
