Cody Police investigating Valley View couple’s deaths
CODY (WNE) — The Cody Police Department has announced an investigation into the death of two individuals found at a residence in the Valley View Subdivision.
On Friday afternoon, following the notification of next of kin, police identified the deceased as Gary Finnicum, 63, and Danielle Finnicum, 52, both residents of Cody. In an initial statement released late Thursday night, police said that officers had gone to the Finnicums’ home in the Valley View Subdivision following a request for a welfare check at the residence. Upon arrival, police said both the husband and wife were found dead.
In the Friday afternoon update to the public, Cody Police Lieutenant Juston Wead shared that both Gary and Danielle died as a result of gunshot wounds and reiterated that, based on the evidence collected thus far, investigators have no reason to believe there is an outstanding threat to the community, nor is there any search for a suspect in connection with the incident at this time.
The investigation remains active.
