POWELL (WNE) — The 1,966 acre Clearwater Fire was 67% contained, according to the latest report early this week by the Shoshone National Forest, as fire growth remains minimal.

There are 74 people engaged in efforts to fight the fire, which is expected to continue to burn and smolder for some time in heavy fuels and steeper terrain.

According to the report, area residents can expect to see more smoke this week with continued hot and dry weather.

Fire managers will continue work on the Clearwater Fire and take appropriate action based on a number of factors including complexity, safety, fire behavior and weather.
