City of Newcastle — ORDINANCE NO. 6, 2025

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 16-11.2 OF THE NEWCASTLE TOWN CODE;

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWCASTLE, WESTON COUNTY, WYOMING;

SECTION 16-11.2 BE CODIFIED INTO THE NEWCASTLE, WYOMING MUNICIPAL CODE READING IN ITS ENTIRETY AS FOLLOWS:

“Sec. 16-11.2. Use of engine compression brakes/jake brakes prohibited.

No person shall operate or use any vehicle engine compression brake within the corporate limits of the city except it shall not be a violation of this section to use any vehicle engine compression brake in the following areas: 

(a) From the crossroad of South Sumner Avenue and the US-16 Truck Route to the crossroad of Stampede Street and the US-16 Truck Route.

Violation of this section constitutes a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of fifty ($50.00) dollars for any first offense, one hundred ($100.00) dollars for any second offense, and for any third or subsequent offense may be punishable by a fine of up to seven hundred and fifty ($750.00) dollars.
