Child dies after running into Laramie street, being struck by vehicle

LARAMIE (WNE) — A 10-year-old child died after being struck by a pickup truck in a residential area of Laramie, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The incident happened around 1:44 p.m. on May 24 near the intersection of Grays Gable Road and North Granito Drive in the northeast area of the city.

Investigators say a Ford F-150 was turning onto Grays Gable Road when the child entered the street and was hit. The child was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck and a passenger were not injured.

According to the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Fatality Crash Summary, there were dry road conditions and overcast skies at the time.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
