Oct. 30, 1933–April 15, 2019
Charlotte “Irene” Pisciotti of Newcastle, Wyo., passed away April 15, 2019, at Weston County Health Services.
Charlotte Irene (Odden) Pisciotti was born on Oct. 30, 1933, in Rosebud, S.D., to Charlotte (Gordon) and Tedwell Odden. She was the sixth born to a family of 11 children.
Irene married the love of her life, James Pisciotti, on Feb. 19, 1952. She worked for many years at Weston County Memorial Hospital; her favorite part of the job was working with the newborn babies.
Irene was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and Newcastle Country Club. She was always willing to volunteer for anything her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids needed for school activities; and her spaghetti was always a favorite at school functions. She was also an avid bowler, golfer, Bridge and Bingo player. Family was the most important thing in Irene’s life, and she loved the times spent together at holidays. Coming from a large family instilled the love of holidays and family in her. She enjoyed the Black Hills; especially Hill City which was home to her.
Irene never knew a stranger, in fact, she included the foreign exchange student from South Korea that lived with her son Tony in 2018 as one of her grandchildren. Her smile would always light up a room.
Irene is survived by her children, Jim (Lourdes) Pisciotti of Crane, Ind., Gordon (Darla) Pisciotti of Redfeather Lakes, Colo., Tony (Denice) Pisciotti of Newcastle, and Todd Pisciotti of Newcastle; sisters, Carol Morsbach, Connie Berthiaume, and Cecilia Johnson; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Pisciotti; daughter, Bunny McGraw; son, Dustin Pisciotti; granddaughter, Desiree McGraw; as well as five brothers, two sisters, and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial for Irene Pisciotti was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Newcastle, Wyo., with Deacon Ken Pitlick officiating.
The family requests that memorials be made in Irene’s name to benefit Ronald McDonald House, 818 Fulton St. SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414. Memorials and condolences may also be sent in care of Meridian Mortuary, 111 S. Railroad Ave., Newcastle, WY 82701. Condolences may also be expressed at meridianmortuary.com.
