Charles M. Hagerman Jr. passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. 
Charles McKay Hagerman Jr. was born in Upton, Wyo., on Dec. 11, 1925, to Charles McKay Sr. and Minnie Dorcas (Wiseman) Hagerman. His brothers were Art, Earl, and Bill Hagerman. Sisters were Cleo Daniels and Fern Burdick.
Charles attended school in Upton, where he graduated high school. He then went on to National College of Business where he received his business degree. 
On June 12, 1951, he married Viola Mae McPherson. The couple made their home on the Ranch 10 miles northeast of Upton where they lived for 68 years, raising seven children. Charles ranched and farmed the land with Viola by his side. After many years of ranching/farming he began a job with True Oil Company as a bookkeeper /gauge reader where he worked for more than 25 years. Charles enjoyed ranching, hunting, fishing, and raising exotic and domestic animals. He also had a green thumb, raising beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens. He loved his African Violet plants. He also enjoyed raising tropical fish and birds. But most of all, he cherished his family. 
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Art and Earl Hagerman; sisters, Cleo Daniels and Fern Burdick; his daughter, Cathy Hagerman Kraft; and his grandson, David Kraft.
His is survived by his wife, Viola; brother, Bill; sons, Ed, Clint, and Mike Hagerman; daughters, Linda Hatch, Susan Snelson, and Janet Herring; along with 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Charles will be remembered by friends and family for his many talents from playing organ, his nurturing of living things, and his love of family. 
Memorial service for Charles Hagerman Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at First United Methodist Church in Upton, Wyo. Visitation took place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, at Meridian Mortuary in Newcastle, Wyo.
