Celebrate music with NHS

Tuesday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m., Newcastle High School musicians will be performing in honor of national “Music In Our Schools Month.” 
Both band and choir will entertain with a variety of music, most of which will be festival level. The event will be held at the Crouch Auditorium, located at NHS.
Also this month, Avery Chick will be representing NHS choir in Spokane, Wash., starting with practice the 11. Avery auditioned for this honor last fall and has been working on the eight pieces that he will perform March 14 with the ACDA Northwest Honor Mens Choir, according to choir director Jan Ellis.
To culminate the month of music, Newcastle Middle School soloists and small ensemble members will be traveling to Wright for their annual festival on Saturday, March 28. They will perform their rehearsed pieces for a judge and receive a rating.
“Take time this month to enjoy music and celebrate the arts with people across the nation and in our community,” Ellis said.
