CASPER (WNE) – Following what it described as a "series of vehicle burglaries" on Saturday night, the Casper Police Department issued a news release Monday asking Casperites to keep their eyes peeled for auto burglars around town.

Police did not provide the location or locations of these supposed burglaries, not even a general location such as a block, north, south, east, west of town for residents to reference their reporting. When contacted for clarification, police spokeswoman Rebekah Ladd said the incidents were scattered throughout Casper, "no specific location."

Nevertheless, Casper's finest is asking residents to make sure they didn't get burglarized Saturday night. They are also asking businesses and residents to review their security footage to see if there are any signs of auto burglary lurking in that night's recordings. Again, this could mean all businesses and homes in Casper with security cameras.

The notice indicated "around a dozen" vehicles were broken into and stolen from between 7 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities added there are multiple suspects. The statement didn't mention whether the break-ins were connected.

Authorities are also asking residents to be on the lookout for "suspicious behavior" like "checking door handles," "rummaging through" cars or "prowling near driveways."
