CASPER (WNE) — A 23-year-old Casper man died following a single vehicle crash on WY 387 southwest of Wright in Campbell County Tuesday night.

Wyoming Highway Patrol officials identified the man as Isaiah Carson.

Authorities said a 1995 GMC Sierra pickup was westbound near mile marker 136 when it veered off the road to the right.

The pickup then traveled along the shoulder for several hundred feet before re-entering the roadway, crossing both travel lanes and exiting off the road, according to a news release from the highway patrol. It continued down the ditch before tripping and rolling through the right-of-way fence and caught fire.

Carson died at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicated Carson was not wearing his seatbelt.

“Driver fatigue is initially being investigated as the primary cause of this crash,” according to the news release.
