CASPER (WNE) – The Casper/Natrona County International Airport announced that 8,941 passengers left from the airport in September, the highest September enplaned passenger month since 1983.

The September number is a 29% increase compared to September 2023.

To date, the airport is showing a 20% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2023.

The news comes on the heels of last month’s announcement, which saw 10,020 enplaned passengers, the largest number for a single month in more than 10 years.

“August’s increase comes on top of a 26% increase in passengers in August, a 30% increase in passengers in July, and a 29% increase in passengers in June,” said Glenn Januska, airport director.

Passengers at the airport are served by SkyWest Airlines, which in Casper is a contract carrier for Delta Airlines and United Airlines. United has six departures from Casper to Denver daily. Delta has one flight daily from Casper to Salt Lake City, but that flight will end Dec. 3.

In June, the Natrona County Board of Commissioners voted to end the minimum revenue guarantee between the county and Delta Airlines, and Delta last month announced plans to cease serving the Casper-to-Salt Lake City route.
